For: 5th grade Junior, Cadette, Senior, Ambassador, Adult, Girl Scout members only

Discover Scuba diving! Your 2 hour adventure is held in an indoor heated pool, where your PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) professionals will guide you through a short session on scuba diving safety then into the pool to scuba dive, play underwater games, and experience the excitement of Scuba. This is a great bonding activity for parents and scouts or smaller troops. Included are Discover Scuba Diving Participant Guide, rental of scuba mask, fins (sizes limited), snorkel, all required scuba equipment, and participation patch. PADI medical and release forms must be completed prior to class.

Special Instructions: MUST BE AGE 10 or ABOVE and be able to pass a scout swim test to participate. Bring swimsuit, T-shirt/rash guard, towel and PADI forms (emailed out prior to class). Must wear a mask while in the classroom and out of the water.

Certifications: Swim Test will be administered at the beginning of class.

Covid Risk Reduction Strategies @ Dive World Austin
All staff, instructors, and participants must wear a face mask in the store and on the pool deck
Hand Sanitizer located in classroom area and poolside for student use
Dive World Austin Pool is treated with bromine
Pool deck marked with X’s to assist students in social distancing in pool area
Students encouraged to wear masks and breath from regulator on the surface of the pool as much as possible and maintain social distancing.
Regulator mouthpieces and masks will be sanitized before and after each class for Dive With Me classes. Masks touched by students (even if not used in water) will not be used with another student until sanitized.
Open Water students will be required to have their own personal mask, snorkel, fins, and boots for the entire course.
Open Water student regulator and BCD will be sanitized before class and then reserved for each individual’s use for the duration of the scheduled class times and will not be used with other students.
Dive World Austin Scout Program Instructors will follow current DWA and/or PADI recommendations for risk reduction in skill instruction.
