The Girl Scout Academy at STARBASE Camp Mabry Day Camp

Monday, June 13 - Friday, June 17

9AM - 2PM each day

Join fellow Girl Scouts for the Girl Scout Academy at STARBASE, Camp Mabry. You’ll spend the week exploring Newton’s Three Laws of Motion, Bernoulli’s Principle, navigation and mapping, flight simulation, investigations of nanotechnology and nanoengineered products, atmospheric properties, rocketry, engineering design process, computer assisted design (CAD), and 3-dimension manufacturing. The program will be conducted at Camp Mabry in a varied and exciting environment, giving girls a new perception of the STEM sciences. The curriculum consists of rigorous hands-on minds-on activities, interactive investigations, experiments, simulations, and on-site tours demonstrating use of STEM in the workplace. Additionally, Girl Scouts will explore STEM careers, processes for goal setting and teamwork skills, and the importance of staying in school and becoming a life-long learner. Certified educators at Camp Mabry’s STARBASE program teach the curriculum.

This camp is limited to girls that will be in 5th and 6th grade in the 2022-2023 school year and are current members of Girl Scouts of Central Texas.

Special Instructions: This is a DROP OFF event. Adults will NOT be permitted to stay on the premises during the program. Please plan to drop off your registered girl with drop off forms submitted at check in.  Please be on the lookout for a confirmation email that will be sent out a few days before the program for important COVID procedures and program details. All communication will be sent to the email address with which you registered.

Cost:  $75

Patch/Badge:  Girls will earn and receive custom Girl Scout Academy T-shirt and fun patch, 3 Robotics Badges and the Citizen Scientist Journey for their registered level.
